Menino: Everett Casino Traffic Would Go Through Charlestown
Mayor Thomas Menino said though he believes a casino project in Everett would impact Boston greatly, the developer behind that proposal has yet to seek input from city officials. “You’d have to go through Charlestown, over the city’s property. That’s the gateway into the Everett site,” Menino said. “I’ve talked to several folks in development who’ve said to me that Boston leads into the site.”

Epping Street Man Charged with Attempted Murder
A 47-year-old Arlington man was charged with attempted murder the morning of Friday, Jan. 11, after he allegedly choked another man and beat him with a remote control after the man wouldn’t give him a Percocet for his back pain.

Medford

Medford to Re-Examine Winter Parking Ban
At the urging of residents, the Medford City Council this week resolved to look into implementing changes to the city's annual winter parking ban. From Dec. 1 to April 1, parking is restricted to just one side of city streets from 12 to 7 a.m. regardless of weather conditions. Residents have complained about a lack of available spaces in thickly-populated areas and that the ban is enforced more strictly in some areas than others.
