More Thoughts on the Davis Square Streetscape Improvements Project

Constructed of repurposed lengths of the soon to be deconstructed McGrath/O'Brien overpass, the McGrath/O'Brien Memorial Bicycle "L" will be a traffic and social feature that allows all Somerville residents to reflect on the blue collar "do what it takes to make it work" sensibility that has long been the foundation of the community while providing an avenue for relieving the road traffic in Davis Square  and connecting the community path to the Middlesex recreation path that some cyclists use to commute.  It will symbolize and affect a synergistic relationship of old and new Somerville--the result being far greater than the sum of its parts.
