Union Square's Bearded Pig Closes After Only Three Weeks

The restaurant couldn't find a location for its smoker, according to Facebook and Twitter posts.

The Bearded Pig, a Southern and barbecue restaurant that officially opened July 30 in Union Square, has closed.

The restaurant explained its decision in a Facebook update posted Wednesday:

We have some sad news. We have been unable to secure a new kitchen, therefore we will be closing our doors. We loved being part of Union Square and thank everyone for all of their support!

On Twitter, The Bearded Pig wrote this: "We have been unable to secure new smokehouse location. We are now permanently closed. Have loved being part of Union Square. Thank you all!"

Previously, on Aug. 15, the restaurant announced on Facebook it was temporarily closing while their smokehouse was being moved.
