Stop & Shop to Open in Former Johnnie's Foodmaster Site

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC announced today that it has acquired the Johnnie’s Foodmaster lease at 105 Alewife Brook Parkway, Somerville, Mass.

Stop & Shop is currently working on the renovation plans and the schedule for reopening has not yet been determined.

Suzi Robinson, a spokesperson for Stop & Shop, confirmed in an email the space would reopen as a Stop & Shop.

Johnnie's Foodmaster in West Somerville closed in November of 2012 after Foodmaster, which had 10 stores in Eastern Massachusetts, closed all its sites.

Somerville's other Johnnie's Foodmaster, on Beacon Street near Inman Square, is slated to become a Whole Foods.
