Somerville's Q's Nuts Opening Davis Square Store

The Somerville-based business sells specialty nuts and may be bringing Christina's ice cream to the neighborhood.

Q's Nuts, a nuts business from Somerville that sells its roasted pecans, almonds, cashews and peanuts at various markets and specialty food stores in the Boston area, is opening its own storefront just outside Davis Square.

The company, run by high school sweethearts Brian and Beth Quinn, makes small-batch roasted nuts in all sorts of sweet, savory and exotic flavors, such as "Mexican chocolate pecans, Key Lime ginger cashews, cayenne mango and rosemary sea salt almonds, and fiery cashews with hot chilies," according to the company's website. The Quinns founded the nut business in 2000 and operate out of a catering kitchen in Somerville, the website says.

They'll be opening their own place on Highland Avenue at the corner of Willow Avenue, in the space formerly occupied by .

Beth Quinn confirmed the efforts in an email and said they're working hard to get the store opened, possibly as soon as July.

What's more, an earlier post on Davis Square Livejournal suggested the Q's Nuts store may even carry Christina's ice cream, surely welcome news to Davis Square residents who are familiar with the Inman Square ice cream establishment.
