Poll: Do You Want Food Trucks in Somerville?

Some crave food trucks and say they'll drive foot traffic in Somerville. Others think they'll take away business from bricks-and-mortar establishments in the city. What do you think.

Depending on how it's written, the ordinance could encourage the establishment of a food truck culture in Somerville, or it could be so restrictive that food truck operators are driven away.

Commenting on the site, cp kostos wrote, "As an owner of a business block of commercial stores including restaurants I oppose such an idea in such a small city like Somerville."

JJ, on the other hand, wrote, "[I]f the city wants to compete with Boston and Cambridge as a destination for residents and visitors, ignoring the fact that people love food trucks is myopic ... if you put food trucks in a place like Union and Davis, you're going to drive more foot traffic there."
