On Facebook, Support for Davis Square Beer Works

In response to a question posted on Facebook, most users felt Beer Works would be a good addition to Davis Square.

In response to a recent public meeting about a proposal to bring a Beer Works restaurant and a Crunch gym to Davis Square—a proposal that some have supported and some have opposed—Somerville Patch asked a question on Facebook:

"Beer Works and Crunch gym in Davis Square: a) bad for the character of the square or b) a good addition, especially in a long-vacant building?"

Overall, the response was in favor of the proposal. As of Wednesday afternoon, eight people voiced support, one person voiced opposition.

Andre Green wrote, "Are there things I'd like more? Sure. But it doesn't work that way; if this is what they can get to come and make money there, great. Better a gym and a bar than another 3 years of empty space."

Noelle Hudgins Marsden was more direct, saying, "Good!! Bring it!!"

But Even Low, who opposed the proposal, wrote, "Oh yeah another gym and yet another bar ... super ... why don't they add some parking for cars not bikes."
