Kindred in Davis Square Could Open in October

Customers may be able to buy tea tonics at a takeout window on Holland Street, according to a recent report.

Those of you who've walked around Davis Square recently have probably noticed the sign at 11 Holland Street that says Kindred Tea & Tonic Cafe is coming soon.

The new business is the brainchild of Carla DeLellis from Johnny D's, which is next door.

Boston.com has posted some information about the new cafe.

First of all, it's expected to open sometime in October, according to the news website.

The cafe will serve tonic using good ole' fashioned Somerville tap water.

According to Kindred's website, the cafe will serve a "tea tonic" that features white tea, grapefruit, mint, sparkling water and Stevia. It lists a "craft tonic" consisting of local strawberry, basil, apple cider vinegar, sparkling water and turbinado sugar.

Boston.com says Kindred is planning a takeout window on Holland Street. It also says the cafe will serve a menu of local and ever changing food.

"Gypsy chefs" from Cuisine en Locale will prepare Once a Week menus featuring locally sourced ingredients, DeLellis told Boston.com.

You can visit the cafe's website at ILoveKindred.com.
