Foreclosure Numbers in Somerville Remain Low

After a slight increase in foreclosures in the first quarter of the year, April saw a drop in numbers.

There was one completed foreclosure in Somerville in April, and so far this year there have been nine completed foreclosures, according to figures from The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.

By comparison, there were four completed foreclosures in Somerville during April of 2011, and 10 through the first four months of that year.

These relatively low numbers are in contrast to what's happening across the state, where "foreclosure activity in April remained at levels dramatically higher than those recorded last year," according to the real estate and financial information firm.
