Munchies Aren't What They Used to Be!

Saltines used to be fresh and salted; now they are stale and have very little salt. Unsalted Saltines is an oxymoron!

  • Pistachios are always stale too. And when was the last time you saw some red ones? Sure they made your fingers dirty, but we know that they tasted better than the light ones.

  • Tidbits were awesome! Nabisco discontinued them about 10 years ago. Big mistake!

  • Cheez-Its are gross! I'll take Cheese Nips over them anytime! However, it is getting more and more difficult to find Cheese Nips. I fear that they will soon go the way of Tidbits.

  • Mallow Cups used to come with coins that you would save until you got 500 points worth, and then you would mail them in for a free box. Now you mail the coins and all you get is a coupon that you have to turn in at the local store to get one cup, but most stores won't even accept the coupon.

  • Peanut Butter Cups are awesome. However, if you take one near a public school, some kid will claim to have a peanut allergy and you will be arrested. When I was a kid, nobody had a peanut allergy. Hmmm ... makes me wonder what someone has against the peanut butter industry.

  • I remember when Chunky bars were a nickle. It was the best hard-candy bar ever!

  • Do you remember when you could get free Hoodsies on July 4 at the local playground? I lived between Perry and Lincoln parks, so I would always get two!

  • When all else fails, there is pizza. Now, who could mess up a pizza?
