This Weekend in Somerville: Tour de Somerville, Mini-Maker Faire, Youth Comedy Night

Tour de Somerville
The 20th annual Tour de Somerville takes place Friday. This year, the Somerville bike journey will explore the edge of the city. Participants will ride along the city's border, through new development in Assembly Square, along the parklands of the Mystic River, into the Tufts University campus and through the industrial areas of Boynton Yards and Inner Belt. Riders will take off Saturday at 10:15 a.m. from Seven Hills Park in Davis Square.

Mini-Maker Faire
Put together by Artisan's Asylum, this is Somerville's first "Maker Faire." Engineers, techies, hobbyists, designers, artisans and tinkers will share their creations. There will be workshops and demonstrations about building rockets, stop-motion animation, geodesic domes and more. The fair is Saturday at 3 p.m. in Union Square.

Somerville Youth and Recreation Comedy Night and fundraiser
There will be comedians, trivia, dancing, raffles, a DJ, an auction, a celebrity guest MC and Italian food. It's Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn.

"Journey into Fear"
Check out this World War II spy movie about an American engineer fleeing Nazis in Turkey. Starring Orson Wells. It's at 8 p.m. Friday at Somerville Theatre.

Filmshift Festival
The Filmshift Festival, featuring independent films dedicated to environmental issues by New England filmmakers, continues this weekend. Films will be shown at Somerville Theatre on Saturday and Sunday.

Rosalita's Puppets 
Rosalita's Puppets will perform a special Halloween show: "The Haunted Woods." The show is for families and kids, and it takes place Sunday at the Somerville Central Library at 2 p.m.
