This Weekend in Somerville: Somerville Songwriters Session, Farmers Market

Also, Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is hosting an open house, there are some free museums in the Boston area, and the New Babushkas play at the Armory.

Somerville Songwriters Session
This series begins Saturday night at The Center for Arts at the Armory. Boston songwriters Terry Kitchen, Laura Bullock, Bethel Steele and Beth Desombre will perform along with Jan Luby from Providence. It's at 8 p.m.

Winter Farmers Market
Get a break from the cold at the Somerville Winter Farmers Market, where you can buy vegetables, breads, cheese, honey and all sorts of specialty foods while listening to live music and generally having a good time. It's from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at The Center for Arts at the Armory.

Free museums
A number of museums across Massachusetts, including the Museum of Fine Arts and the MIT Museum, are free on Saturday and Sunday for Bank of America cardholders. Learn more here.

The New Babushkas
Here's what the event listing says: "Through accordion, flute, flugelhorn, clarniet, cello, and pure awesome-ness, The New Babushkas blend French, Balkan and Modern music to create a unique soundscape for your listening and dancing pleasure." They perform Sunday night at 7 p.m. at The Center for Arts at the Armory.

Prospect Hill Academy Charter School open house
Learn about the charter school Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The open house is at the school's campus at 15 Webster Ave. in Somerville.
