This Weekend in Somerville: Greek Festival, SPOKES Bike Fest

Including a a bike tasting tour of Somerville's squares, an opening reception for an art exhibit and ghost tours in nearby Harvard Square.

Greek Festival
Somerville's annual Greek Festival, including food and non-stop music and dancing, takes place Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at , 29 Central St. More here.


This bike fest features bicycle goods, free bike maintenance workshops, bike art and an outdoor screening of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. There will also be a night ride through the city. It starts Saturday in Union Square at 5 p.m.


As part of SPOKES, the Somerville Bicycle Committee is hosting a ride through Somerville's squares to sample food at six restaurants. The ride starts at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, and you should email Jacy Edleman at jacy.edelman1@gmail.com to reserve a spot on the ride, as they're limited. The tasting tour costs $30, and proceeds benefit The Welcome Project.

Opening reception for The Dream Team
"The Dream Team: Coyne, Creamer, Feinstein, Leone" is a new exhibit at . The exhibit touches on "themes of process, the passage of time, and the confidence in one’s  ability to create," according to an announcement from The Washington Street Art Center. There's an opening reception Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.


From the listing: "Explore the secrets of old Cambridge with a lantern-led walk through Harvard Square's historic haunts." The tour is led by the author of an upcoming book called "Ghosts of Boston: Haunts of the Hub." The 90-minute tour takes place every night until Oct. 31, and it starts at 1430 Massachusetts Ave.
