Somerville Copy Cat Fest: A fundraiser for Arts at the Armory & Charles River Alley Cat

Finally, a local event to celebrate the profound cultural contributions of cats! Inspired by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, which held an Internet Cat Video Festival last year that was attended by over 10,000 people, we proudly announce the Somerville Copy Cat Festival. Yet our feline extravaganza will feature not only cat videos—produced locally and globally—but also cat stories, cat limericks and a slideshow of local cats (including a few cats up for adoption!). Emcee will be Jef Czekaj, who will kick off the event by reading his book Cat Secrets for cat-crazy kids. There will also be a cat costume table so you can pretend you're a cat (but please don't bring any real ones). Plus local cat organizations and crafters selling cat-themed wares. What more do you need to know? CATS CATS CATS!

Submit Your Cat Videos, Photos, Limericks; Deadline: February 1st
Send us cat videos (ones you've created or suggest your online faves), cat limericks, and cat photos. There will be prizes —including cat furniture, cat books and general cat swag! If we're overwhelmed with submissions, preference may be given to Somerville cats. For more details on how to get involved, download the pdf application here: http://www.somervilleartscouncil.org/artsunion/2013/copycat
