SAC's Nibble Blog Seeks Photographic Work for Upcoming Global Culinary Culture Exhibit

Food From Afar - Photos are needed!

For the month of June the Inside Out Gallery (CVS window in Davis Square, a small but highly visible space) will feature a juried photography exhibit showcasing global culinary culture as it relates to Somerville. The photographs—and the stories behind the images—will run in Nibble, as well.

We plan to showcase a broad range of work in terms of geography and style. Whether its food production, agriculture, street markets, supermarkets or scenes of family dinners, we want to see your view of how the world eats. Some photographers may submit narrative scenes of spice sellers in Marrakech markets or dosa makers in Chennai. Other photographers may submit more abstract-leaning images of misty Vietnamese rice paddies. We also seek food-themed photography that shows “food from afar” in a Somerville context—for example, photographs taken in local ethnic restaurants or markets.

We seek medium- and large-scale photographs; color or black and white. This is a juried show; preference may be given to Somerville photographers.
