Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel Shoot Movie in Somerville

"Basic Math," also known as "Sex Tape," also stars Rob Lowe, Jack Black and Rob Corddry.

Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel were in Somerville Monday to shoot a movie called "Basic Math."

Popsugar.com and Boston.com posted a photo of Diaz and Segel shooting scenes from the movie, also known as "Sex Tape," on the Tufts University campus. Equipment trucks were lined up on College Avenue for the shoot.

Tufts posted a list of where on campus the shooting was scheduled to take place.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Diaz and Segel play a married couple who, to spice up their love life, shoot a sex video. The video gets mistakenly synched to other people's devices, including the mailman's and Diaz's character's mother, and the two spend a frantic night trying to retrieve the footage, the entertainment website says.

The movie includes a cast of some big-name Hollywood stars, including Rob LoweJack Black and Rob Corddry.

It's been shooting around the Boston area, including in Newton earlier in September.

Zap2It.com, however, says production of the movie has hit some snags. Sony pushed the releases date back from July 2, 2014, to July 18, the website said. It also notes that the town of Reading refused to let the movie film at the Parker Middle School because of the "Sex Tape" title and theme.

Somerville residents and, in particular, members of the Tufts community: Did you see Diaz and Segel on Monday? Are you excited to see the movie?
