Where Are Somerville's Most Ignored Stop Signs?

Stop signs are not optional, but they're sometimes treated as if they are.

There are tons of stop signs in Somerville, and often they're overlooked when drivers are in a rush.

We're talking about the ole' Hollywood Stop.

We've all seen it, and many would probably admit to rolling through the occasional stop sign at one point or another.

Do you know of a location where a stop sign is frequently rolled through or ignored?

Share where it is in the comments section, below.

Ill be honest, this has not been my experience as a driver or pedestrian. The majority of people do stop at both pedestrian crossings and stop signs around the city.

I've seen a lot worse problems with yield signs than with stop signs. A lot of people don't seem to understand what a yield sign means, including ones at traffic rotaries. Stop signs seem to be ignored more on small residential streets than on large arteries.

The intersection at Concord and Springfield is TERRIBLE! The city raised the crosswalk and that didn't do anything, now cars just scrape on the bottom. Then they painted lines, still doesn't stop anyone. This is a serious hazard.

I agree with A, no one in Mass. seems to understand what a yield sign means. I've almost been in accidents due to people coming up on ramps and not yielding to the traffic already in the travel lane
