Somerville High School Soccer Players Charged with Rape
Three members of the Somerville High School junior varsity soccer team have been arrested and charged with rape. The alleged rapes occurred on Aug. 25 at Camp Lenox, in Otis, where Somerville High School fall sports teams were conducting team-building activities.

Two More Fires Strike Somerville Wednesday Morning

One day after a fire on Highland Avenue, two more fires broke out in Somerville on Wednesday, one on Bromfield Road, another on Summer Street. Both fires remained under investigation.

On Wednesday, Somerville detectives and a SWAT team arrested Somerville resident Alex Gomoes, 24, in connection to recent home break-ins.

Possible New Plans for IKEA Site in Assembly Square
It appears new plans are in the works for the former IKEA parcel in Assembly Square. Developers who wanted to build a large supermarket faced some opposition from residents who advocated for a mixed-use development. Somerville Alderman John Connolly withdrew a zoning amendment that would allow for the supermarket, saying "a mutually beneficial arrangement" could be in the works.
