The first of five planned bus diversions in 2013 on the MBTA's Red Line between Cambridge and Boston takes place this weekend.

The bus diversion will affect service between Kendall/MIT Station and Park Street Station.

According to the MBTA, buses will replace Red Line trains between Kendall and Park Street beginning Saturday morning (Aug. 10) and ending Sunday night (Aug. 11.)

Normal service will resume Monday morning.

This bus diversion is due to the ongoing Longfellow Bridge rehabilitation project.

The remaining bus diversions for this year will take place over the weekends of Aug. 24-25, Oct. 19-20, Oct. 26-27 and Nov. 2-3.
