1) Somerville's National Merit Scholar 
Ruth Grossman, a senior at Somerville High School, has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program, according to an announcement from Somerville Public Schools. Grossman ranked in the top five percent of all students in the country who took the 2011 Preliminary SAT test, the announcement says. Grossman is also an accomplished musicians who's a member of the Youth Symphony at the New England Conservatory of Music; she received the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship and the Harvard Book Award, and she received an honorable mention in the 2012 regional science fair, according to the announcement. Congratulations, Ruth Grossman!

2) Union Square on WGBH's "Neighborhood Kitchens"
WGBH's "Neighborhood Kitchens" show, which showcases ethnic restaurants in New England, came to Union Square in a recent episode. The episode focused on Dosa Temple, and it also went on a short tour of Union Square. You can watch it here.

3) Frosted Mini Wheats recall
If you eat Frosted Mini-Wheats for breakfast (or for lunch or dinner), you should know there's been a recall due to possible metal fragments in the cereal. Not all boxes are recalled. Learn more here.

4) Cambridge Savings Bank head steps down
Robert Wilson, president and CEO of Cambridge Savings Bank, will step down after Dec. 31, according to an announcement from the bank. Wilson has been on medical leave since earlier in the year, the announcement says. Kevin Fitzgerald, former chairman of the board, will serve as acting president and CEO while the board of directors searches for a new chief executive, the announcement says.
