Five Things: Saving Greyhounds

Also, pajama story time, Two for Tuesdays and some pub trivia.

1) Saving greyhounds
With greyhound racing tracks closing in the area, three Somerville residents have come to the rescue of some of the dispersed dogs, according to a Hopkington animal welfare non-profit. John and Jo Ann Murray and Ron Mesard have adopted greyhounds and volunteer at Greyhound Friends, which works to save former racing greyhounds, according to an announcement sent by the organization. Since 1983, Greyhound Friends has saved 9000 racing dogs, its website says.

Head over to Lower Broadway tonight for some “Two for Tuesdays” specials at some of the area’s restaurants.

invites families and their young ones to get into pajamas, pack a picnic and show up for a good story. It starts at 6:30 p.m.
