Five Things: Pajama Storytime, Portraits and Pizza, Biz Briefs

Some things to know and do in Somerville today.

1) Pajama Storytime
From the listing: "Pack a picnic, get your pajamas on, and come down to the garden!" You'll hear stories for children ages 3 to 7, and "this year," the listing says, "there will also be a collection box for ... Pajama Program, that distributes new pajamas and new books to children of all ages living in temporary shelters and group homes." It's at 6:30 p.m. at the Somerville Community Growing Center, 22 Vinyl Ave.

2) Free Family Portrait Night and Pizza
Bring your friends and family for a free photo portrait, and enjoy some Vinny's pizza. It's all part of East Somerville Main Streets' "It's Tuesday: East Somerville's Night." The event is at 6 p.m. at the East Somerville Library.

3) CPCU Credit Union Cooks
Somerville's CPCU Credit Union is teaming up with Community Cooks to prepare home-cooked meals for homeless young adults. Ten employees of the Somerville bank take turns preparing meals for 12 young adults in the ShortStop program, according to an email from the bank. Each team member prepares one meal a month.

4) Grossman Marketing Group's New Hires
Grossman Marketing Group, another Somerville business, has made two new hires, according to an email sent on behalf of the company. Heidi Quigley is a special projects associate and Al Maloney is an account executive. Congrats.

5) Weather
Mostly cloudy with a high around 80 and a chance of scattered thunderstorms.
