Five Things: Mexican Wood Carving, Parkour

Also, raising money for cancer care and research.

1) The Visiting Mexican Artists Program
Students at the Kennedy School and the Winter Hill Community School learned wood carving this week. Ventura Fabian and his son, Noberto, were at the schools Wednesday and Thursday to teach students about Mexican wood carving along with Mexican history, art, language and culture.

2) Adult parkour classes
Learn the fundamentals of parkour, the discipline of overcoming physical obstacles (as seen in the opening scene of the James Bond film Casino Royale). It's at 6 p.m. at the Somerville Schools Parent Information Center.

3) Money raised for breast cancer research 
CPCU Credit Union employees raised $600 for breast cancer research with its Costumes for a Cause event, according to an announcement from the credit union. It will donate the money to the American Cancer Society.

4) Holiday cards and gifts for cancer care
