Five Things: Ice Cream and Hot Sauce

1) Ice Cream and Hot Sauce Takedown
An event called The Ice Cream and Hot Sauce Takedown is coming to Somerville's on Aug. 26. Basically, it's a cooking contest for local cooking types who have killer hot sauce recipes or awesome ice cream recipes. The contest is still open to contestants, and tickets will be available soon.
2) Somerville's Northeastern University Scholar
Nathaniel Dempkowski, of Somerville, is one of 50 University Scholars at Northeastern University, according to an email from the university. Among other things, Dempkowski, a graduate of , was president of the Science League. As a university scholar, he receives a full tuition scholarship to the university. Congratulations.

5) Weather and Red Sox
