Five Things: Capuano, Curtatone Host Social Security, Medicare Forum

1) Public forum on Social Security and Medicare
Rep. Michael Capuano, Mayor Joseph Curtatone and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare are presenting a public forum on those topics this morning. It's free and open to the public, though an RSVP is requested. It's at 11 a.m. at the Aidekman Arts Center at Tufts University.

2) An evening of poetry at The Book Shop
Accomplished poets Bert Stern, James Decrescentis and Heidi Hample will be reading at The Book Shop in Ball Square starting at 6:30 p.m.

3) Jazz: McCoy Tyner Quartet featuring Gary Bartz
Jazz pianist McCoy Tyner brings his quartet to Tuft's Granoff Music Center tonight at 8 p.m.

4) "Meet & Greet" at the library
Meet Maria Carpenter, head of the Somerville Public Library, and members of the Library Trustees and Friends to discuss your vision for the city's libraries. Today's "meet and greet" is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the West Branch Library, and Saturday's "meet and greet" is at the same time at the Central Library. More here.

5) Weather and Red Sox
Today will be rainy with highs around 61. The Red Sox play the Orioles tonight at 7:05 p.m.
