2) Reading and Book Signing by Sandy Lerner
Sandy Lerner, a.k.a. "Ava Farmer" will be discussing and signing her book, Second Impressions, which is set 10 years after Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It's at 5:30 p.m. at the Coolidge Room, Ballou Hall, at Tufts University.

3) Donating backpacks
CPCU Credit Union donated backpacks to students at the Escola Portuguesa de Cambridge e Somerville (a.k.a. Portuguese School of Cambridge and Somerville), according to an announcement from the credit union. Each student received a backpack at a recent open house at the school, and younger students also received coloring books and crayons, the announcement says.

4) People for Democratic Revolution
Interested in achieving the long-term goal of establishing "a classless society based on the Golden Rule, in which there is equality of condition with no one being rich and no one being poor?" Check out this talk at the Somerville Public Library at 6:30 p.m.
