Solar experts at DPW Hazardous Waste day, Sat. 10th

Solar experts from the Somerville Solar Challenge will be at the Somerville DPW Hazardous Waste Day (DPW yard, 1 Franey Road) on Saturday the 10th from 9 am to noon.   The solar experts can pre-screen your home to see if solar panels might work on your home to produce clean electricity.

The Solar Challenge is organized by HEET (an award-winning nonprofit) and Next Step Living (one of the largest green contractors in the state).  The program is supported by Somerville Climate Action.

The Solar Challenge offers a 20% base-price discount to up 100 homeowners (below the state average cost for solar per watt installed as of July 2013). The Challenge runs from now until Oct. 1st.

The Challenge will also donate $300 for each solar installation to a participating Somerville nonprofit.  The Solar Challenge can give up to $30,000 in donations to nonprofits. See SomervilleSolar.org for more information.
