Cambridge Resident Joanna Christodoulou Joins MGH Institute of Health Professions as Assistant Professor

BOSTON - Cambridge resident Joanna Christodoulou, MA, EdM, EdD, has joined MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston as Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. 

Dr. Christodoulou integrates roles as a clinician, developmental cognitive neuroscientist, and educator. She teaches courses at MGH IHP on oral and written language development and difficulties. Dr. Christodoulou’s research, conducted with the Brain, Education, and Mind (BEAM) Team, focuses on the development of reading and related skills, and approaches to harnessing individual variability to improve educational outcomes. To explore these research areas, Dr. Christodoulou uses neuroimaging and behavioral tools. Dr. Christodoulou completed her training in the Boston area. She received her BS in Biology-Psychology and Biomedical Engineering and her MA in Child Development from Tufts University. In addition, she earned an EdM in Mind, Brain, and Education, and an EdD in Human Development and Psychology from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dr. Christodoulou completed her post-doctoral training at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences with Dr. John Gabrieli.
