Abby Kennels Canine Good Citizen Event

Abby Kennels of Chelmsford (www.abbykennels.com) hosted an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluation on Saturday, August 17, 2013.  The purpose of the CGC program is to stress responsible pet ownership.  Handler/dog teams must pass ten check points to receive a CGC designation.  These steps include everything from training your dog to come when called to greeting a friendly stranger with your dog calmly sitting at your side.

The evaluation event was opened to the public and participants included all of Abby Kennels’ recent obedience class graduates.  Handlers young and old showed up with big dogs and little dogs, young dogs and old dogs.  We’re proud of everyone who worked so hard training their dog to be a good citizen.

We’re also proud of our staff, who generously volunteered their time and talents to make this event a success.

On behalf of all the participants, their well-behaved dogs and our dedicated staff, Abby Kennels is pleased to make a donation of $150 to German Shepherd Rescue of New England.

We’ll be holding another AKC CGC evaluation event in the fall.  Follow us on twitter @dogmankevin and like us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/AbbyKennels) for more information about all our programs and events.
