Ward 4 ResiStat Meeting, Spelling Bee

Five things to know and do in Somerville on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013.

1) Ward 4 ResiStat Meeting
The Ward 4 ResiStat neighborhood meeting takes place tonight at 7 p.m. at the Healey School cafeteria, 5 Meacham St.

2) West Somerville Neighborhood School Spelling Bee
This fierce competition pits teams of three against each other. It's tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Dante Club, 3 Dante Terrace. Email Stephanie Slattery at sslattery32(at)gmail.com for more information.

3) Milk Row Cemetery Open
Somerville's old cemetery, next to Market Basket on Somerville Avenue, is open today from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

4) Volunteer Training-Supporting Literacy
This training helps Somerville Public Schools literacy volunteers gain the skills they need to help students with reading, writing and comprehension.
