Tufts Students Are Back

Five things to know and do in Somerville on Aug. 29, 2013.

1) Tufts Matriculation
If you drove by Tufts on Wednesday, you probably noticed a lot of activity. The class of 2017 was officially matriculating. The class has 1,316 students, and the acceptance rate, at 18.8 percent, was the lowest undergraduate acceptance rate in school history, according to an announcement from Tufts. Welcome to Somerville.

2) Riverfest
The sixth annual Riverfest in Assembly Square is scheduled for Sept. 21. This year's Riverfest will have a steampunk theme, and as always there will be food trucks, music and other fun things. What's more, it will likely take place in the new riverside park in Assembly Square. We'll be posting more about this later, but I thought you might want to put it in your calendars.

3) Upload Your Back-to-School Photos Here
Well, not here, but to the link above. School starts on Wednesday, and you can post your back-to-school photos at that link.

4)
Red Cross Fire Prevention Tips for College Students and Parents
If you missed it, the American Red Cross provided some fire safety tips for college students and their parents.

5) Weather
Isolated showers with a high around 72.
