Somerville Tsunami Softball Wins

Also, "The Secret Garden" movie screened outdoors, fire hydrant testing, and wine and food volunteers are needed. Five things to know and do in and around Somerville on Aug. 22, 2013.

1) Somerville Tsunami Wins Division
Somerville's 10U fast pitch softball team went 13-1 in its inaugural season and was co-champion of the 10U B Division of the Middle Essex Softball League, according to an announcement from the team. Congratulations!

2) "The Secret Garden"
Watch the movie outdoors at Seven Hills Park in Davis Square. The movie starts just after sunset, which is at 7:34 p.m. today. It's part of SomerMovie Fest.

3) Fire Hydrant Testing
You may have received notice from the city that the fire department is conducting tests of fire hydrants throughout the city. The testing takes place mostly during the day, although some evening testing may also occur. It may discolor water. If it does, the water is safe to drink, but it will stain your laundry. If your laundry gets stained, call 311. For those of you calling from cell phones, 311 is actually (617) 666-3311.

4) WGBH Needs Food and Wine Volunteers
The annual Taste of WGBH: Food & Wine Festival is from Sept. 19 to Sept. 22. They need volunteers to help run the event, and these volunteers can attend for free. Contact jaime_reese@wgbh.org by Aug. 30 if you're interested.

5) Weather
Partly sunny with a slight chance of thunderstorms. Highs around 86.
