Learn About Somerville's Elementary Schools

Five things to know and do in Somerville on Jan. 28, 2014.

1) Elementary School Informational Sessions
The Somerville School Committee is hosting two informal informational sessions to help families learn about Somerville's elementary schools. The first session is Feb. 4 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thalia Tringo & Associate's Real Estate, 128 Willow Ave. The second session is Feb. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the community room of the Somerville Public Library, 79 Highland Ave. Three or four School Committee members will attend these sessions along with parents and guardians of kids already enrolled in Somerville elementary schools. It's a chance to ask questions in a relaxed setting.

2) Last Chance: Somerville Open Studios Registration
As a reminder, the last day to register for Somerville Open Studios is Friday. More at somervilleopenstudios.org.

3) Art Exhibit at Somerville Council on Aging
This exhibit of portraits by Nancy Hall opens today at the Somerville Council on Aging. The show will be open until Feb. 21, and the hours are 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

4) Somerville Neighborhood News Watch Party
Enjoy some refreshments at Cantina la Mexicana and watch the most recent episode of Somerville Neighborhood News. The watch party is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the restaurant.
