Is La Brasa Opening this Spring?

Also, lots of winter concerts. Five things to know and do in Somerville on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013.

1) Is La Brasa Opening this Spring?
La Brasa is one of the most highly anticipated restaurant openings in Somerville, a city with its fair share of highly anticipated openings. But so far it's remained just that, anticipated. There have been expectations about it's opening since celebrated chefs Daniel Bojorquez and Frank McClelland signed a lease at 130 Broadway, in East Somerville, in January of 2012, nearly two years ago. Well, now Thrillist–in a post we found out about through Boston Eater—says it could open by this spring. I'll believe it when I eat it.

2) Winter Concerts
There are lots of winter concerts at Somerville schools today. The West Somerville Winter Concert is at the West Somerville Neighborhood School at 9 a.m. The Healey School Winter Concert is at 9:15 a.m. at, you guessed it, the Healey School, and finally, the Somerville High Winter Concert is at 7 p.m. at the high school's field house.

3) Funny Sav-Mor Liquors Signs
In case you missed it, we posted a collection of funny Sav-Mor Liquors signs. The small, local chain of stores is know for its humorous messages. Check them out here.

4) Symphony Park Meeting
You can read more about it elsewhere on Somerville Patch, but be aware there's a public meeting tonight about the construction of a new park in East Somerville. The meeting is at 6 p.m. in the community room of Bryant Manor, 75 Myrtle St.

5) Weather
Partly sunny with a high of 38.
