Home Demolished in Summer Fire Seeks Permission to Rebuild

1) Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets tonight at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Among the cases they'll consider is a proposal to rebuild 23-25 Calvin St., which was destroyed in a violent and massive fire in July. According to a meeting agenda, the owner, Philip Weiss, seeks a special permit to include "sideyard setbacks, [a] rear setback, front decks for all units, and window and door alterations."

2) Small Fire in Assembly Square
A small fire broke out at the construction site of the new movie theatre in Assembly Row, according to Boston.com. The news website said sparks from welding fell on a pile of cardboard, which caught on fire. A firefighter on detail at the construction site was able to put out the fire quickly, Boston.com said.

3) "Black and Blue"

Black and Blue: The Story of Gerald Ford, Willis Ward and the 1934 Michigan-Georgia Tech Game is a documentary about Jim Crow, college football, and a future president. It screens tonight at Somerville Theatre at 7 p.m.

4) Tufts Chamber Singers: Revelation
The Tufts Chamber Singers perform at 8 p.m. in Distler Performance Hall at the Granoff Music Building. This concert is free.
