Davis Square Park Renovations Begin, 'Night of the Living Dead'

Five things to know and do in Somerville on Friday, Oct. 24.

1) Kenney Park Groundbreaking
The city will officially break ground today on renovations to Kenney Park in Davis Square, which is getting a $500,000 facelift. The renovated park will have a public art and live performance space, moveable furniture and updated basketball court and play areas. Today's groundbreaking is at 12 p.m. at the park, near the corner of Highland Avenue and Grove Street.

2) Night of the Living Dead
The Post-Meridian Radio Players present a live version of "Night of the Living Dead" in the style of the Golden Age of Radio. It opens tonight at 8 p.m. at 204 Elm St., Responsible Grace Church.

3) New At Noon: Write Now—Phone It In
This chamber-music performance by Tufts composers is at 12 p.m. at the Distler Performance Hall at the Granoff Music Center, 20 Talbot Ave. It's free.

4) Friends of the Somerville Public Library Fall Book Sale
The book sale begins today at 12 p.m. at the main branch of the library, 79 Highland Ave.
