Rescheduled: Community in Harmony Concert

Five things to know and do in Somerville on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013.

Update, Tuesday, 9:40 a.m.: Due to a snow storm expected Tuesday afternoon and evening, the Community in Harmony Concert has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. It will take place at the East Somerville Community School.

1) Community in Harmony Concert

(See above update.) El Sistema Somerville is performing this concert tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the East Somerville Community School. It will feature Handel's Hallelujah Chorus. Also today, the Winter Hill School Winter Concert is at 9:15 a.m. in the school's gymnasium.

2) Grant Will Help Disabled People Find Employment
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development has given a $250,000 grant—part of an overall $1.7 in funding to various groups—to Triangle, Inc., a Malden-based organization that works with people with disabilities. The purpose of the grant is to train and find employment for people with disabilities, including residents of Somerville.

3) Paradigm Capital Buys Somerville Building
Paradigm Capital Advisors has bought an office building at 52-56 Roland St., on the Somerville and Charlestown border, for $12 million, according to Boston Business Journal.

4) OPENSOUND: Improvised and Experimental Music
This concert series, featuring "avant-garde, experimental, acoustic, and electro-acoustic music," is hard to categorize, according to the listing. There's a performance tonight at 7:45 p.m. at Third Life Studio, 33 Union Square.

5) Weather
Snow, with an accumulation of 1 to 3 inches, and highs around 26.
