Casino Night, Old Time Baseball in Cambridge, Brazilian Food, and Seafood

Five things to know and do in and around Somerville on Aug. 21, 2013.

1) Network and Nosh at the Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill’s Casino Night
Check out the Holiday Inn's newly refurbished space, enjoy some cocktails, food and networking, and do a little family friendly gambling to benefit the One Fund. It starts at 5:30 p.m. at the hotel, 30 Washington St.

2) 20th Annual Old Time Baseball Game
Former Red Sox player Lou Merloni will join top-notch baseball players from around Boston for a game that has all the sights, sounds and flavors of 1940s baseball. Players will wear throwback uniforms, and the event celebrates America's national pastime. The game is in Cambridge at St. Peter's Field on Sherman Street at 7 p.m.

3) A Bite of Brazil
Part of the Somerville Arts Council's Nibble cooking program, Joe de Souza, owner of Modelo Bakery in Magoun Square, will teach people how to make some Brazilian food, including Brazilian barbecue. It's from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kitchen Inc., 201 Somerville Ave., outside Union Square. Check out wepay.com/stores/sac-shop to see if tickets are still available.

4) Last-ish Chance for Seafood Madness
Olde Magoun's Saloon has a special Seafood Madness menu on Wednesdays in August. August is coming to an end, so if you want to try it, do so now.
