DESCRIPTION:In Fabrics of Meaning\, the artist explores the fluid nature 
 of identity with a series of works made from paper created with fabric g
 athered from family members. This exhibit represents the fibers of Maria
 n&rsquo\;s family\; how they transcend physical space\, and the definiti
 on of place. The use of physical location acted as a &ldquo\;jumping off
  point&rdquo\; with which to articulate this diverse and expansive famil
 y.\nMarian was born in Rochester NY\, where she resided until 2004. She 
 moved to Colorado to finish high school\, and then attended Colorado Col
 lege\, in Colorado Springs. Marian is a current graduate candidate\, Ed.
 M. at Harvard&rsquo\;s Graduate School of Education in the Arts in Educa
 tion program. She seeks to address how the arts can both support and bui
 ld inclusive learning communities with a universal design for learning.\
 nThe event begins June 18th and will run through August 31st.\nThe Openi
 ng Reception will be held June 19th from 4-7pm\, featuring Edward Clapp\
 , editor of 20UNDER40: Re-Inventing the Arts and Arts Education for the 
 21sr Century.
