 ools welcomes new and returning&nbsp\;volunteers to&nbsp\;a free volunte
 er training to explore ways we can support&nbsp\;student achievement in 
 language arts.&nbsp\; \nThere&rsquo\;s an exciting initiative happening 
 in Somerville Public Schools and it&rsquo\;s name is X-Block. &nbsp\;Thi
 s is time set aside for Grades 1-8 for independent and group work to ens
 ure that students are engaged in high level and purposeful intervention 
 and/or enrichment activities.&nbsp\; \nVolunteers are currently needed t
 o support reading activities and 1:1 literacy tutoring during X-Block.&n
 bsp\; If you have one hour a week\, consider spending it with a Somervil
