Twangbusters bust into Somerville, bringing their danceable blend of rootsy rhythms and soulful blues, infused with twang. No cover.   Though new to the music scene, the Twangbusters are a quartet of well-known roots musicians recently named as a band to watch in Worcester Magazine's "Notes on the Rise". With a voice that's been described as "Patsy Cline meets Bessie Smith", the band features dynamo Paula Bradley (Girl Howdy, Uncle Earl) on piano, ukulele and vocals, Peter "Dr. Z" Zarkadas (Sarah Levecque) on electric guitar, Brian Rost (Tarbox Ramblers) on upright bass, and Texas dancehall veteran drummer "Wild Bill" Nadeau (Junior Brown, The Derailers).  The Twangbusters deftly mix their passion for American roots music into a musical cocktail of boogie, blues and hillbilly bop - you'll be shaken and stirred! www.reverbnation.com/twangbusters.

Cantina La Mexicana

247 Washington St, Somerville, MA
617-776-5232

Cantina La Mexicana has been in business in Union Square for a decade and a half. The restaurant's vibrantly colored walls, arched passageways, skylights and large windows accent the dark wooden bar and tables while cultural touches like a sparkly and colorful Virgin Mary add charm.

Cantina's owner, Roberto Rendon is proud to offer 100 percent authentic Mexican cuisine and will willingly work with customers to accommodate the needs of a party or small group.

Cantina La Mexicana is also a two-time recipient of Boston's Best Burrito, and Boston's Most Affordable Mexican Restaurant; hosts karaoke on Thursday nights and often features live music.
