Sunday at Tufts-Community Concert Series -- The Baroque from England to Italy—A Concert by Members of the Handel and Haydn Society

Keyboardist Ian Watson will lead members of the Handel and Haydn Society in a program of Baroque works by Vivaldi, Handel, Purcell, and others that highlight the Baroque concerto. Founded in Boston in 1815, the Handel and Haydn Society is considered America’s oldest continuously performing arts organization and will celebrate its bicentennial in 2015. The society’s Period Instrument Orchestra and Chorus are internationally recognized in the field of historically informed performance, using the instruments and techniques of the composer’s time.

Tickets are free with a Tufts ID card (limit two per ID) and $10 for general admission. Call 617.627.3679 for tickets.

The Granoff Music Center at Tufts University is based on Talbot Avenue and is the home to the Tufts Music Department. The location offers various facilities for students as well as the box office, and also holds numerous events and concerts. Some events include concerts, guest performances, children's concerts, workshops and more, including the Tufts Community Music Program for children and adults.

The location offers classrooms, practice rooms and rehearsal spaces, as well as the Distler Performance Hall, a 300-seat recital hall.
