Pizza & Pints for Pups
Chow down on Flatbread Company’s gourmet pies and enjoy a refreshing pint of Rapscallion Honey Ale while helping to raise funds for local nonprofit, som|dog at the “Pizza & Pints for Pups” charity event.
Since 2004, som|dog has helped to bring three dog parks
to the city and advocate for off-leash recreation at surrounding DCR trails. Som|dog was built as a grassroots effort to create positive change for Somerville’s residents and canine companions and promote responsible dog ownership. Continuing that mission, som|dog will help to raise funds to renovate Somerville animal control’s facilities, support local shelters and sponsor education and training sessions for the community. More than bark parks and mutt mitts, som|dog is the go-to resource for dog owners in the city of Somerville and the neighboring communities.
“Pizza & Pints for Pups” will take place from 5:30 to
8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5. at Flatbread Company in Davis Square, 45 Day Street in Somerville. Tickets are $25 and entrance includes pizza, all you can drink Rapscallion Honey Ale, a year-long som|dog membership with discounts to local businesses, and the chance to enter opportunity drawings to win treats for dogs and humans. Each patron will also receive a gift bag courtesy of River Dog.
Pet parents, dog lovers or those seeking a fun night are
welcome! Can’t make it but still want to help? From 5 to 11 p.m., a portion of the proceeds from every pizza sold that night, take-out or dining-in will benefit som|dog.
To purchase tickets, visit http://somdog.eventbrite.com.
For questions or more information about som|dog, email firstname.lastname@example.org or like som|dog on Facebook.
Som|dog is still accepting gift baskets and certificates from local businesses
to add to the opportunity drawings. Any level of support is welcome.
More About Flatbread Company at Sacco's Bowl Haven
Flatbread Company has ten wood-fired pizza spots in New England, but its Somerville location is the only one that also offers bowling while you eat. The restaurant/bowling alley caters to a diverse crowd, including those looking for a unique date night. It is also a popular destination for families with young children who have no problems handling the smaller, candlepin bowling balls. A bar serving beer and wine is available for the grown-ups.
All of Flatbread Company's delicious, organic pizzas are wood-fired and contain local ingredients. There are also lots of options for those with dietary needs, including gluten-free hard cider and desserts. Pizzas start at $7.50 and bowling costs $3 per person per game.
