Are you a Somerville parent of a young child, birth through age 5?
Do you enjoy working to plan fun activities for your kid(s)?
Would you like to join other, like-minded parents and do just that?!
Then mark your calendars and come participate in the first meeting of the Somerville Family Network (SFN) Parent Event-Planning (PEP) Team on Wednesday, November 7th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., in the Conference Room at the Argenziano School, 290 Washington Street Somerville, MA 02143!
The PEP Team is a group of parents who volunteer their time and get together with the support of the SFN to plan activities that engage local families with young children. Essentially, the PEP Team focuses on fun programming for little ones! Historically, we have planned two music fairs and one fundraiser per school year. Working out all these details and publicizing the events can be a fun, bonding experience for the parents involved.
Come reap the benefits from your involvement with the PEP Team, for you and your children! It's a great community-building outlet, and you will enjoy seeing all the kids have a good time knowing that you were involved in making it happen!
Hope to see you there! Please spread the word!

More About Dr. Albert F. Argenziano School at Lincoln Park
Dr. Albert F. Argenziano School at Lincoln Park
A roughly $35 million renovation completed in 2007 transformed this K-8 school into a state-of-the-art teaching facility. Formerly called the Lincoln Park Community School, it is now named for former School Superintendent Dr. Albert F. Argenziano. Inside the gleaming, energy-efficient building are over 40 classrooms, a new Library/Media Center, and a Math & Science Technology Center—all outfitted with cutting-edge teaching technologies.
The expansive grounds now feature renovated playing fields and a jungle gym. Over 490 students attend the school and roughly two-thirds are English Language Learners. The school's Structured English Immersion Program provides intensive English instruction. Meanwhile, Argenziano is an international demonstration site for the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations, a nonprofit program that helps students set goals and reach them. The social-emotional curriculum, Second Step, is also taught to grade K-6 students.
Test scores are available on the school's website and here. Principal Barbara O'Brien heads the school.
