Note, Jan. 21, 11:10 a.m.: Event organizers contacted Somerville Patch to say festivities are beginning at 11:30 a.m. and that Rep. Ed Markey might address the party via Skype.

Celebrate Victory 2.0 Inauguration Party
When: Monday, Jan. 21st at 1:00PM
Where: Orleans Restaurant, 65 Holland Street, Somerville, Massachusetts

We walked, we called, we data-entered, we registered voters... now it's time to CELEBRATE! Join us as we watch President Obama sworn in for his second term, and for a great celebration of all of our hard work.

Featuring:

  • The Yes We Can Dance Obama Playlist!
  • Special Guests include: Senators Pat Jehlen and Sal DiDomenico, Mayor Joe Curtatone, Reps Denise Provost, Carl Sciortino and Marty Walz, Aldermen Tom Taylor, Bill White, Maryann Heuston and Rebekah Gewirtz and School Committee Members Paul Bockelman, Mark Neidergang, Adam Sweeting and Christine Rafal, and City Councilors Leland Cheung and Minka vanBeuzekom.
  • Appetizers!
  • Last but not least, the 44th President of the United States!


The celebration starts at 1PM; the ceremony starts at 1:30, and the inaugural parade will follow.

This bar offers a unique atmosphere that manages to be both chic and homey. The space itself is large and open, with huge bay windows and comfortable couches and booths. During the day, Orleans is bright and cheerful, with a large lunch menu of salads, pizza, and sandwiches. At night, Orleans transforms into a hotspot, with a full bar menu of cocktails, wine, and beer. Orleans offers a variety of nightly events, including trivia on Wednesdays, live acoustic music Thursdays and Fridays, live DJson Saturdays and RockBand on Sundays.  Also, all NFL/ NCAA games are shown on flat screen TVs in the bar.
