Come join master woodcarver Ventura Fabian and his son, Norberto, as they create their hand-carved, hand-painted Oaxacan wooden figures. Ventura is one of the most original and well-knownwoodcarvers in Oaxaca, Mexico. Brilliantly colored and strikingly designed, many of his carvings are rooted in aspects of daily life in his small village of San Martín Tilcajete; others are wildly imaginative, springing wholly from the realm of fantasy.

More About Brickbottom Artists Association
Operating out of a large, eponymous former warehouse on Fitchburg Street, the Brickbottom Artists Association is one of the oldest artists' associations in the country. This nonprofit organization offers creative workshops, classes and full art programs. Also housing a contemporary art galley, the association is part of the Open Studio program, an endeavor to expand and preserve the arts in and around Boston.
