Burlesque 101 with GeeGee Louise is a series of eight classes designed for absolute beginners to receive a comprehensive education in the art of the tease, or amateurs who want to brush up on the basics from an acclaimed performer in the burlesque scene.
Students will learn the fundamentals of burlesque - from essential movements and the utilization of props to the history of burlesque performance and basic costuming.
With direction from your instructor, the incomparable GeeGee Louise, you will choose a stage name, develop a persona and create a complete routine.
This series is gals-only and limited to 8 students.
Class length: 8 weeks, 1 1/2 hours/class
Tuesdays 7-8:30pm: 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16 and 4/23.
Saturdays 12-1:30pm: 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 3/30, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20 and 4/27.
More About Boston Vintage Factory
Boston Vintage Factory is a studio which teaches classes on vintage fashion design and techniques from the 1930s to late '50s. Additional subjects taught include retro-themed hair, make-up, art and dance. Classes are small, and all tools and materials needed are supplied by the Factory.
