Highland Avenue to Get a 'Zipvan'

Zipcar is expanding it's fleet of vans in Boston, including one in Somerville and two in Porter Square.

If you've ever tried to stuff a massive Craigslist buy into the back of your Zipcar, only to find it won't fit and leading you to drive down Interstate 93 with a mid-century kitchen table tied to the top of a Mazda 3 with shoelaces and your girlfriend's scrunchy (and you both haven't eaten dinner and the table inevitably won't fit up the staircase of your triple-decker apartment, so you're about 20 minutes away from a relationship-questioning argument), you may enjoy this news.

Zipcar is expanding its 'Zipvan' program into Boston, according to an announcement from the Cambridge-based car-sharing company, which means Highland Avenue is getting a Ford E-150 cargo van. Two spots in Porter Square are also getting vans.

All Zipcar customers can rent the van, and there's more information at www.zipvan.com.
