Where to Celebrate New Year's Eve
Several of Somerville's restaurants and bars are hosting special dinners and parties.
Foundry on Elm
The Davis Square restaurant and bar is offering a four-course meal and a chef's tasting. Entrees include a parmesan and wild mushroom risotto and a seared Magret duck breast, with yam puree, cranberries and a kumquat glaze. Take a seat between 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and then join the dance party at 11 p.m. The restaurant recommends making a reservation for dinner.
Cost of dinner: $55; $75 with wine pairings
Admission to party: $20 in advance; $25 at the door
Johnny D's Uptown Restaurant
The restaurant will serve dinner until midnight. It will kick off its party at 9:30 p.m. Booty Vortex will play disco beats throughout the evening.
Cost: $26 at the door; an additional $4 fee for buying tickets online
Highland Kitchen
From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., the restaurant will serve special dishes on New Year's Eve, along with its regular dinner menu. You will also be able to make a reservation no matter the size of your party. The People's Karaoke will deejay at 11 p.m., and the bar will close at 2 a.m.
The Burren
Cover band Red Square will play at the Davis Square pub from 9:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. The restaurant will serve dinner from 5 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

The Holiday Inn Boston-Somerville
A local Portuguese band will play from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the nightclub, where there will be a midnight champagne toast and cheese and crackers.
