Somerville Winter Farmers Market
When: Saturday, Jan. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Where: The Center for Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave, Somerville
Why go? Buy fresh bread, locally produced honey, cheese, fruits and vegetables, wine and other food. Musicians, coffee, baked goods and workshops on food preparation add to the experience.
"Constellations" Poetry Reading
When: Sunday, Jan. 8, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Where: Somerville Public Library, 79 Highland Ave, Somerville
Why go? Listen to area poets and short fiction authors read from this new literary journal.
Knit & Sip Crochet Soiree
When: Sunday, Jan. 8 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Nave Gallery, 155 Powder House Blvd, Somerville
Why go? Knit or crochet woolen goods for next November's Wrap Around sale, which benefits the Somerville Homeless Coalition. There will be coffee, tea, and some light snacks.
